Keep God’s Commands

If you believe in Jesus Christ and would like to receive him as your savior pray the prayer of salvation and begin your new life with Jesus Christ.

Have you sinned?

God wants us all to recognize that we are sinners and need salvation through His Son Yeshua who gave His life for us. He wants us all to repent and turn away from sin, both physical sin, and the sin in our hearts and minds, and to turn to Yeshua and walk with Him.

We’ve all sinned and we all need to be saved. If you don’t believe you’ve sinned and need to be forgiven and saved, read what God and Jesus said are sins.

God gave us these commandments:

  1. You shall have no other gods before me.
  2. You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
  3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
  4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
  5. Honor your father and your mother.
  6. You shall not murder.
  7. You shall not commit adultery.
  8. You shall not steal.
  9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.

What Jesus told us:

In the sermon on the mount in Matthew 5-7, Jesus Teaches us that sin begins in our hearts, if we don’t change our hearts sin will always be in us, and true repentance begins in the heart. Read some of the following verses from the sermon on the mount in The Gospel of Matthew.

Don’t think that I have come to destroy the law of Moses or the teaching of the prophets. I have not come to destroy them but to bring about what they said. I tell you the truth, nothing will disappear from the law until heaven and earth are gone. Not even the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter will be lost until everything has happened. Whoever refuses to obey any command and teaches other people not to obey that command will be the least important in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever obeys the commands and teaches other people to obey them will be great in the kingdom of heaven. I tell you that if you are no more obedient than the teachers of the law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. —Matthew 5:17-20

You have heard that it was said to our people long ago, You must not murder anyone. Anyone who murders another will be judged. But I tell you, if you are angry with a brother or sister, you will be judged. If you say bad things to a brother or sister, you will be judged by the council. And if you call someone a fool, you will be in danger of the fire of hell. —Matthew 5:21-22

You have heard that it was said, You must not be guilty of adultery. But I tell you that if anyone looks at a woman and wants to sin sexually with her, in his mind he has already done that sin with the woman. —Matthew 5:27-28

You have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. But I tell you, don’t stand up against an evil person. If someone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other cheek also. —Matthew 5:38-39

You have heard that it was said, Love your neighbor and hate your enemies. But I say to you, love your enemies. Pray for those who hurt you. —Matthew 5:43-44

Don’t store treasures for yourselves here on earth where moths and rust will destroy them and thieves can break in and steal them. But store your treasures in heaven where they cannot be destroyed by moths or rust and where thieves cannot break in and steal them. Your heart will be where your treasure is. —Matthew 6:19-21

The eye is a light for the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. And if the only light you have is really darkness, then you have the worst darkness. —Matthew 6:24

No one can serve two masters. The person will hate one master and love the other, or will follow one master and refuse to follow the other. —Matthew 6:22-23

“Don’t judge others, or you will be judged. You will be judged in the same way that you judge others, and the amount you give to others will be given to you. —Matthew 7:1-2

Enter through the narrow gate. The gate is wide and the road is wide that leads to hell, and many people enter through that gate. But the gate is small and the road is narrow which leads to true life. Only a few people find that road. —Matthew 7:13-14

Not all those who say ‘You are our Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven. The only people who will enter the kingdom of heaven are those who do what my Father in heaven wants. On the last day many people will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, we spoke for you, and through you, we forced out demons and did many miracles.’ Then I will tell them clearly, ‘Get away from me, you who do evil. I never knew you.’ —Matthew 7:21-23

Everyone who hears my words and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on a rock. It rained hard, the floods came, and the winds blew and hit that house. But it did not fall, because it was built on rock. Everyone who hears my words and does not obey them is like a foolish man who.

Then Jesus Told Us To Love the Lord Your God with All Your Heart, Soul and Mind, and To Love Your Neighbor As Yourself

But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees with his reply, they met together to question him again. One of them, an expert in religious law, tried to trap him with this question: “Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?”

Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”—Matthew 22:34-40

If we keep those two commandments we will be keeping all the commandments and our hearts and minds will be right with God.

God Doesn’t Want Us to Keep Sinning After Salvation but to Come to Repentance.

Why do we need the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in our lives? They are our helpers, The Holy Spirit teaches us and is our guide in this world, and without the Holy Spirit we have no chance of reaching true repentance.

Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. —Romans 8:5-8 (NLT)

The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. —2 Peter 3:9 (NLT)

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. —Philippians 1:6 (NLT)
