We Are One
We Are One with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you…
Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and God…they form the Trinity; they are one. They exist separately and yet, they are also with us. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all involved in our lives and our salvation.
God knows each one of us even before we are created. He knew all our days before we had even lived one of them. Before we are saved, God works in our lives to draw us to Jesus Christ in order for us to receive salvation. In fact, Jesus said in John 6:65, And He said, This is why I told you that no one can come to Me unless it is granted him [unless he is enabled to do so] by the Father. John 6:45, It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me. God Draws us to Jesus by his Word, by the people He places in our lives, and by signs and miracles we experience or witness that testify to the fact that God is real.
Psalm 139:13-16
For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.
I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;
Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.
John 6:44
No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day.
God wants us to be reconciled with Him, and the only way for us to be reconciled is through the blood of Christ. So God, wanting us to be reconciled, draws us to Christ so that we can eventually return to the presence of God. Jesus said, …no one comes to the Father (God) but through Me (John 14:6). The love of God the Father and Jesus the Son of God are infinite, unconditional, and beyond measure.
God came to the earth in the form of a man (Jesus) and gave his life for us, while we were still sinners and while we denied Him and turned away from Him. He still died for us so that we would have a chance to be saved and return to Him, That’s true love! We love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19).
God and Jesus are one, equal parts of the trinity, as evidenced when Jesus said in (John 14:7) If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him; in (John 17:5) Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was; and in (John 6:38) For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.
Isn’t it great that God loves us so much that He created a wonderful plan for our salvation, sent His Son, a part of the God Head/Trinity to die for our sins, and all we have to do to receive this salvation is to confess our belief in Jesus, repent (turn away from our sins and toward God) of our sins and be obedient to our Lord and Savior by keeping Jesus’ commands which shows the sincerity of our hearts? We obey His commands because we want to in our hearts, because of the love He has shown us.
We must abide in Jesus’ love, Jesus kept all the laws and commandments because He loved His Father, He abided in His love, We must keep all of Jesus’ commands because we Love Him, and we must also, abide in His love.
John 15:9
Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.
John 15:10
If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
2 John 1:6
And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
1 John 3:23
And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.
When we receive this precious salvation from God, we receive the Holy Spirit (the final part of the trinity) within us, (1 John 3:24 Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us), who guides and gives us understanding of Gods word as we read and study the Bible. We also become members of the Kingdom of God, though we can’t see it, by faith we know its there and we are members of it. We are in fact, dignitaries, representatives of God, appointed by God and given authority by Him to do his work (spreading the word/truth of God so others can hear and come to salvation) on this earth until He calls us home.
Our thoughts, hope, love, expectations, literally everything we do and think involves God. Everything we once loved we now hate and the things we once couldn’t stand we now love. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit turn us inside out and change our lives forever because spiritually they are in us and a permanent part of us and we are in Them. In other words, we die to our old lives, our sins are forgiven, and we are born again as new creations in Christ, and the changes take place by God, Jesus (word), and the Holy Spirit working inside of us.
John 14:20
In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.
John 17:19-21
For their sakes, I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.
1 John 3:24
Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.
Once they are in our hearts, nothing evil from our old lives can stay because …no one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other (Matthew 6:24). If you have been drawn by God to truly receive Jesus Christ into your heart, you will be saved because God is faithful… (see the following verses)
1 Thessalonians 5:23
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass
John 6:29
Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.”
John 6:38-39
For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day.
By choosing salvation through Jesus Christ’s death on the cross, we are saying that we choose God and want all evil out of our lives forever, (1 Peter 2:24 …and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.) And because we make that choice God opens a direct line to us through prayer and His Holy Word and He promises us the gift of eternal life;
John 10:28-30
I give my sheep eternal life. They will never die, and no one can take them out of my hand. My Father is the one who gave them to me, and he is greater than all.No one can steal my sheep out of his hand. The Father and I are one.”
Luke 9:24
For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it.
John 12:25
He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal.
Matthew 16:25
For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.
Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Romans 12:12
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer.
Philippians 4:5-7
Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Matthew 7:7-8
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
Matthew 16:23-24
In that day you will not question Me about anything Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
