Read the Bible
Reading the Bible is the only way to get to know God and increase our knowledge of God (the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Reading the Bible is actually hearing God speak directly to you through the Word He has given us. Some of the things you will learn from the bible are:
- What God has done throughout history
- What God’s interaction with mankind has been
- What God expects of us
- What God has promised us
- What prophecies has God given us
- What promises and prophecies from God have been fulfilled
- What promises and prophecies from God will be fulfilled in the future
- And so much more…
Along with prayer, daily reading of the Bible is important in your growth as a Christian. It will make you grow closer to God and improve your relationship with God. Reading the Bible will feed your soul the truth it hungers for instead of all the lies it’s received from the world. The more you read, the more you’ll understand and believe, and your faith will grow, as well as your desire to please God by being obedient.
So get a good Bible and start a journey with God learning the truth
Below are some scripture verses from the Bible, about the faithfulness and effectiveness of the Word of God
In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. —John 1:1
Then Jesus said to them, “You foolish people! You find it so hard to believe all that the prophets wrote in the Scriptures. Wasn’t it clearly predicted that the Messiah would have to suffer all these things before entering his glory?” Then Jesus took them through the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining from all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
By this time they were nearing Emmaus and the end of their journey. Jesus acted as if he were going on, but they begged him, “Stay the night with us since it is getting late.” So he went home with them. As they sat down to eat, he took the bread and blessed it. Then he broke it and gave it to them. Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And at that moment he disappeared!
They said to each other, “Didn’t our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?” —Luke 24:25-33
Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. —Ephesians 6:17
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. —Hebrews 4:12
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. —2 Timothy 3:16-17

By guarding it according to your word. —Psalm 119:9
